1/10/2024 0 Comments Lag steam team fortress classic![]() Why? Because with TF2's style of gameplay, it really is impossible to capture the flag on 2fort if you're playing against any semi-decent players - you simply don't have enough tools at your disposal to make it to the flag room and back without getting destroyed 10x over in all the narrow corridors. To illustrate the point, look at the popularity of 2fort and Dustbowl in both games: Almost every TF2 player I know despises both maps for being ridiculously imbalanced with a metric fuck-ton of chokepoints, whereas they were both staple maps in TFC, with 2fort's popularity dwarfing all others to an insane degree. It's not even really fair to compare them since they're so fundamentally different: TFC was all about twitch reflexes and incredibly precise movement, whereas TF2 lost a lot of that in favor of more team-focused, support-style gameplay. I've played both games for a substantial amount of time, but nowadays if I ever get the itch, it's always TFC that I go for. ![]() I miss all the chaos of TFC, TF2 feels so slow by comparison. But the gameplay is surprisingly similar to TF2 to this day. I think the cluster bombs were a bit OP (used by Heavy and Demo) and the Medic's "infect" ability was both ridiculously fun and ridiculously game-breaking sometimes.ĭoes the game hold up? The graphics don't. I really miss spamming those cluster-bombs into the sniper nest on 2Fort.Īre the different classes balanced? I'm no expert on balance, but it was pretty decent. The game basically invented class-based multiplayer FPS. It was insanely fun and innovative back then. Is the combat fun? For it's time, absolutely. ![]() I still play TF2 to this day and seeing "The Classic" sniper rifle come out made me laugh. Using medic to troll and infect people is one of the things I miss the most. Learning to concussion grenade jump from one 2fort sniper nest to the other side of the map was both fun and hilarious. I spent endless hours on 2fort trying to play sniper with massive lag =P. I played on dial-up back in the day and the sight of firing a rocket as a soldier and having it freeze mid-air due to lag was a common sight. Whatever works for you.TFC was easily my most played game as a kid. For tfc pyro, i'd say you should look at the new information to find what's cannon. Yeah im guessing Older TFC Pyro model shows it was a man Nice but have you heard of a retcon? You shouldn't be ignoring new information just because it conflicts with the old stuff. This is on the TFC classic Pyro Team Fortress 2 Wiki I know that Pyro doesn't have a gender (yet) that we know of, but i have more proof that it is most likely male instead of female like what people think Pyro is (not everybody)Īlso i did not know this but there is a older TFC pyro model that is also a man, to a female voiceĪlso i think the reason why they changed TFC Pyro into a women is because valve knows about the fanbase and wants to tease them with what's Pyro's gender. They all have the same voice for calling for medic in that game, and if Pyro in that game was a female, wouldn't they change the voice?. I said that the TFC Pyro was a man before the comics, they just changed the gender Originally posted by Walter Clements:Pyro doesn't have a cannon gender.
